Despite my tirade against the England Rugby Union's decison to unveil an all black uniform for the Rugby World Cup, I guess deep down I really hoped they would come to their senses. And show a bit of sportsmanship.But no, the strip was unveiled today and it was announced that England will be taking to the field in Dunedin for their first RWC match against Argentina newly black. New Zealand's rugby team, of course, is known as the All Blacks and the world cup is being held here in September.
I won't repeat my rant, but just wanted to provide you all with an update. It looks, happily, as if there is some discord in the England camp. If you look closely, the guy in the white strip has obviously come to blows - and lost - with all black guy. Nice shiner, dude.
On another front, there's good news for the Emperor Penguin who made a mad dash from Antarctica for the Kapiti Coast of New Zealand. Well, after several surgeries he's apparently doing much better. Now they're looking at ways of getting him home. He's putting on weight and soon they think they might be able to drop him off in the ocean south of New Zealand - hoping that he'll head home. Considering he spent considerable energies getting away from there in the first place, it's not much of a plan. But, hey, I'm not much of an animal guy.

When I saw the penguin photo I thought at first it was part of the commentary on the English kits.
